jeetega bhai jeetega India Jeetega

"Jeetega bhai Jeetega Indiaa jeeetega...!!" ... was being screamed on the top of our voices as Misbahs last catch was taken... India in the 2011 world cup finals... a dream... a dream that finally has come true...

Sad part? We have school on saturday. Now knowing how the teachers and parents are, i know we are not going to get a holiday or get to bunk school. How fair is that? after all how often does India make it to the finals anyway? Moreover how often does World Cup take place yaar...

Chhodo, i can keep ranting... Aur ek gul hai... kal maths ka test hai... ye numbers ne toh meri puri laga di hai marks ki... kya bolu... algebra, geometry, blah blah lala aur what not... why do we have to learn all those things when we know they are never ever going to help us, besides when we teach our own children. :P

So i finally got sometime today in school to complete another character for my super power comic book... let me know how you guys find it ;)

Paper Cranes for Japan

One week ago today, a devastating tsunami and multiple earthquakes rocked the island nation of Japan.

However, thanks to an incredible outpouring of support, things are beginning to look up. In particular,  friends over at DoSomething.org started a “Paper Cranes for Japan” campaign that has caught the eye of two incredible organizations: Architecture for Humanity and Students Rebuild, an initiative of the Bezos Family Foundation. And thanks to their generosity, these two new partners will match your crane contributions with dollars for reconstruction.

Mail your paper cranes to Students Rebuild to trigger $2 for each crane. The goal? 100,000 cranes received will raise $200,000 to support Architecture for Humanity’s reconstruction efforts in Japan.

Get a group of friends together and host a paper-crane party now! They'll even supply a pre-paid mailing label for boxes of cranes. Check out all of the details at StudentsRebuild.org.

And remember, you can always choose to donate to the Red Cross; they’ve got relief stations located across the country that will assist with citizen evacuation and medical needs.

Stanley :-)

MoonWalk :D

Oh my god, I cannot believe this... I just learned how to do a moon walk... and i did it on my own.. Now all i need is a michael jackson cap and a stick... yay! i cant wait to show it off to my friends.

So today I was at school... I cant help but think about the history paper that just came in front of me and went in the same manner... all i did was scribble some random dates and yeah, thats about it. I think i'm going to score a Zero... thinking about Zero... something that people relate to Kareena Kapoor than to the term "zero" itself.. Poor Aryabatta... I feel bad for him.. But right now i want to think about all possible Zeros besides my marks in history. :P

Tomorrow is India Pakistan... the most awaited match in the history of Cricket... and the world cup.. I know India is going to win, this is just more of a formality than anything else.. The finals i feel will be between Sri Lanka and India... and finally India is going to win... i have a tendency of predicting future... :P

Also I just got off the phone with yuvi, he told me he's dedicating his tmw's match performance to me... He's like a best friend to me... go yuvi boy! :D

Allright friends, I have to go now... home work :(

Will blog again soon..

Cheers,

Stanley :-)

Studies... phew!

I just got done with studying. The thing about studying is that you either do it or you just spoil the whole day. The choice is yours.

I was always the kid who wanted to get done with studying so that I could go around doing my thing without anyone nagging me all the time. I dont know if i'm a bright student or not but I always pass in my exams, i do well in elocution and debates and i love running around in school.

My friend Sam always tells me I was a popular kid, but I dont see how. I just love making a lot of friends, and during most periods today I was at OUTstanding student. If you know what I mean...

Ah my friends are calling me down to play some cricket.. I hope i get to bat... I'm the one who gives sachin all the tips before he goes to play for India. He thinks im a really good coach... :D

I'm going off to play now,

Happy Playing everyone :-)

And England lost... I told them...

So here I am again. I knew England was going to loose vs Sri Lanka... I so knew it.

So the England captain called me during lunch after they were all out for 228 or something. I told them they had a hard chance of winning. The only way that would have been possible was if they got Sri Lanka all out in a short time.

I advised him to make a spinner bowl in the first over, that would have surprised the Sri Lankans, but he did not listen to me. Well and here is the result, they lost. Ha Ha. So anyway, Im making a comic strip of my own, its got super heros with super power.

So it looks something like this...

His name is Zodiac, a half ninja, half because i feel i drew him too thin... im still working on other super heros..

So now i'm going to continue drawing more and hearing less of what this Hindi teacher speaks...

tata for now,

Stanley :-)

Hobbies...

Do you enojoy your school a lot? If yes, than please come and share your experiences with me as well on facebook. It is a lot of fun on there.

Many students keep complaining that their life is dull, that everything what they see is the study, they are studying at school, than they come home and making home assignments again. Lessons, lessons, lessons. The whole life consists of lessons. Well, if to live in such a rhythm, one can really go mad.

That is why in order not to go mad; I think you should start doing some hobby. I love playing keyboards so i practice that everyday. It is so great to have a hobby and to make your mood perfect with the help of being busy with it.

It is so great to be a part of, for example, drama class. It is a great chance for you to meet interesting children, to express yourself, to get rid of all bad moods, which have gathered during the whole studying day.

Dancing is also a great activity. Beautiful music, cool moves, beauty of the dance also are able to make your mood great and to make your life full of bright colors. In addition to it, dancing will keep you fit.

I hope this helps you and cheers you up, it cheers me up for sure.

See you soon,

Stanley :-)

Phew, bachh gaya..

I was so proud that I wrote some non-sense answer and yet never got caught for that. When the boys at my class learnt this, one of them told me that may be Geo Maam didn’t notice the answer well but if I do it one more time, I will for sure get caught. I told him, "the way I manage to write non-sense things, I will never get caught”. Then he immediately said “Ok, Bet, in one of the next few class tests, you should some were write a tamil movie name or a beginning line of a movie song, and if you don’t get caught, then I will get you a FAMILY PACK DAIRY MILK”. Family pack dairy milk was smthng really big to us, so I readily accepted

The test day came, and there was a question “Name the hills of Western Ghats”. I never kw the answer for this anywayz, but with the bet at mind I wrote “Aanai Malai Hills is a part of western ghats, Annai Malai hills are the highest mountains in Western Ghats, annai malai anna mala anna mala asai vechen is located in high altitude”…… and if you read btwn the lines, I wrote the anna malai song a little. Some how with full guts, I closed the test note & submitted it. After doing this, I told every one in the class that I have done it….. the reaction from my mates were “oh my god"

We kept the bet for joke, if she catches you she will go to any extent. You know our principal is very strict too, she doesn’t even allow us to dance for a movie song in cultural shows, how will she tolerate this now? She will ask u to bring ur parents & complain this to them…..bla bla bla” and I started to fear out.

Hey What will I do now? Then everyone suggested “Stanley, miss will keep the test notes at her shelf in the staff room, tomorrow morning come early, before 8.15 am, go into the staff room (it will be unlocked by the peon at 8’0 clock), open the shelf, take out your test note and strike off the song words well or just strike out the answer itself”. I said what if I get caught by some one, then my class leader (Sashi Kumar) told that “ok I will also come with you, I will stand with you, if any teachers comes in, then I will say, I came to keep the project charts, maps etc…

I will manage some stories, you come at 8’0 clock tomorrow”. I came at sharp 8 the next day & my CL came at 8.10, when we went into the staff room, god our Geo maam was already there and best part was she was correcting our test notes”…….She asked us “what you want”, “we said, nothing maam, came to check whether Maths miss has come, we have some doubts in our home work” and then came back to our class.

I panicked, but my friends said "We will meet your uncle today & tell him what ever happened. So if principal calls ur uncle later, it will not be big problem, don’t worry”. I almost got fever that day. The same day, our last hour was geography class, and god she came with the test notes. I was just praying every god that I knew.

Before she distributed she said “very bad performance, no one has done well in the test. Only Hema Latha has done well”, all others do imposition”, then she gave the test notes. Oh, I got the test note in hand, she has striked out the entire answer as incorrect, “0” marks next to it, but I am SO HAPPY, no remarks, no watch out for those words…..oh god THANK YOU>>>>>>>>. Didn’t stop with that, I got that FAMILY PACK DAIRY MILK FROM THAT GUY…….

I became so famous in my school after this incident (of course at the student level only, no teachers I think kw this), my seniors, my juniors, my batch mates started to call me “anna mala anna mala” there after. Even now in face book & twitter, if I send a friend’s request to any of my school mates, they will easily identify me saying “Hey Stanley whats up”?????

I THINK I WROTE TOOOOOOOOOO MUCH in this blog entry, will write about our biology class experiences in the next blog.

Bye Bye
Stanley :)

Rivers or Rivers?

Incident Two : Just a month before half yearly exams, this great ma'am kept a surprise test. If some one says test before a month itself, I will not prepare well, how will you then perform well?

She asked 3 questions, of that I managed for 2 but for the last one, The question was “What is perinial & what is non-perinial river?” For this I wrote (I still remember my answer so well, this ans then became school famous too)

“Rivers that are perinial in nature and are not classified as non-perinial rivers are called perinial rivers. Rivers that are non-perinial in nature and are not classified as perinial rivers are called non-perinial rivers” – guys believe me I got a big tick against this answer & got 2 out of 3 (the deduction of 1 mark was because I didn’t give any examples….. ahahahah).

The best part of this scene was, Gayathi, who is a highly intelligent student wrote the correct answer for this but got only 1 mark, she was so unhappy (this girl is very sensitive abt marks) & went to the ma'am along with the geography book and said “miss I have written the same as in book & why u gave me only 1 mark????”.

Our Geo ma'am was waiting for opportunity to bounce back on her and said “U know what is CBSE and how to approach exams in CBSE? U should never write what is their in books, u shld refer other books & write on your own, don’t just mug-up & vomit”…… he he he…

all our batch mates were laughing on this for the entire day. Even now during our get-togethers & met-ups, conference calls, we use to talk abt this incident & tell Gayathri “Please don’t vomit”

Cheers! :-)

Leo Pard

Geography Classes:

Incident ONE: The Geography teacher started to take one of the chapters in which came the word “Leopard”.

I am sure even a small kid would know the pronunciation of this word, my teacher being a so called PG, Mphil in Geography read it as “L-E-O-Pard” (guess u all got what I meant), yes she pronounced it as “Leo” and then “Pard”. The entire class couldn't stop laughing, she got so offended and asked us what is so funny in that lesson?

One of the very daring student, stood up bold and said “Miss, that should be pronounced as “laypard” and not “Leo-Pard” – she was the target of our Geo maam from then. In that class, that maam immediately said I will complain abt u to the principal”………. Though she didn’t really complain to the principal, her fortune days started from then.

Cheers!

The memory box..

Dabbay mein kya laaya”, Abhi wrote in my textbook.
“Idli” I wrote back.
“Ghar mein Idli ka factory hai kya?” said Abhi

15 minutes to go before the recess bell rings up at 10.15AM. Singh sir was “paka raha hai”.
Textbook conversations were the ‘in’ thing and it still is.

School days was all about dabbas, badi shauf, raw imli ,writing on benches…
and who can forget the pen fights, the x and zeroes. Heaven.

Having your Dabba was the most important thing during ones school days. The student who had Maggi in his Dabba was the most sought after that day. Even the girl who never used to give you a bhaav, would “have a bite” from your dabba. The next moment you are friends.

Having your tiffin when the lectures were on was an adventure and an achievement. You will see a bunch of hungry open palms under your desk the moment you open your dabba.  It was like giving prasad to a bunch of hungry devotees.

Creating Cartoons out of the text books cartoons and giving them names was another crazy time pass. I remember making eyes and nose on a picture of Amoeba in my Science textbook and naming it after my cruel science teacher.

School days always remain a nostalgia that refuses to leave one’s subconscious like an aged ink stain on the shirt. It always returns as pangs of memories about mirth and joy veiled by a distant past.
