Stanley Ka Dabba - Music Review

Read on the music review of Stanley Ka Dabba..:)

Life bahot simple hai
. If you are not yet humming this, you’ll soon be, that much I can tell you for sure. Shaan almost does a bum bum bole without exactly getting into that mood and pitch. A soft, innocent, lovely song that is good for you, whatever age you are.

Sukhwinder’s Dabba has some trying-to-do-a-Gulzar lyrics and while the lyricist Amole Gupte gets some on and off success, the overall effect of music, lyrics, and Sukhwinder’s singing is quite likeable. The innocence in Sukhi’s voice once again tells you how that man of hiiiiighhhhh notes can be humble with his voice too. Nice.

The next comes Nanhi si jaan, a light rock number sung by Shankar Mahadevan with a melody that sounds somewhat like that of the ’90s to me. Still, Shankar makes the song worthwhile to an extent. And then, after listening to the entire album, I expect that the song will find its place as the movie comes up. Hopefully.

The next song, Tere andar bhi kahin, is sung by Vishal Dadlani. The song is a light rock number again, but this one is quite different in its treatment and words take precedence over everything in this one. Somehow Vishal’s voice seems to be doing justice to the poetry in this one. Not too ‘musical,’ but it’s lovely and I expect the movie will make this one a favorite.

The next song, the only one in the album with a female voice, Jhoola Jhool by Hamsika Iyer is a short lullaby that sounds lovely if you’re patient enough. A small piece of good work by Hitesh.

The next small piece, Aditya rox, a version of tere andar bhi kahin, is not really very musical, but I liked it nonetheless

Still, the overall impact of the album is good. The music is fresh and Amole’s lyrics definitely speak for his movie only. The good part is that even though you can relate the music to the children’s movie, you can enjoy it anyway, something I’d consider a huge achievement for a debutant album composer in Bollywood.

Stanley Ka Dabba is a film that needs to be viewed by millions

Karan Johar Thursday said that Amole Gupte’s upcoming film ‘Stanley Ka Dabba’ took him back to his school days and made him remember one of his teachers who really troubled him.
Johar came to support and release the music of the film. He had seen the film that revolves around the life of school children a few months ago and felt very nostalgic.
‘This film makes you smile and takes you back to school. In fact one character in the film reminded me of my biology teacher, who traumatized me in my schooling years. When I saw this film, I actually got a huge reflection of that,’ the 38-year-old told reporters here.
‘I was a good student, a first bencher, so I used to sit right in front of her eyes and she scandalized me and traumatized me. So this film took me right back to those days. When I watched this film, I felt a feeling of nostalgia and a feeling of tremendous power of cinema,’ he added.
The film that has been written, produced and directed by Gupte will be distributed by Fox star Studios. It will be released May 13.
Johar, who launched the music of the film at Landmark, said: ‘I had the pleasure a couple of months ago to see this film. The film completely moved me. It is a film that I feel needed to be viewed by millions of people.
‘The way Amole has projected children and the symbolism of food in the film, it is great. At the end of the film you will get up with a huge lump in your throat which very few films that make you laugh do,’ said Johar.

Who isn't fond of a Dabba.

Everyone loves homemade food. If your are not a star you forget the calorie intake limit and gorge on the delicious and mouthwatering food.

However even the biggest of stars, who maintain a strict diet regime can be floored with a simple dabba .A Bollywood biggie recently proved this last week when he was shooting at one of Mumbais busiest bylanes.

The actor, who is on a restricted diet let go of his strict calorie intake when a family from the neighbourhood walked in with a huge dabba of home-cooked food for him. Unable to refuse them; and also the mouthwatering cuisine, the actor allowed himself to indulge. He gorged on the delicacies and heaped praises on the lady of the house.

Later, he even carried the tiffin home for his wife and his mother, with a promise to send the dabba back with his driver by the next day

The actor has a very strict diet routine unless, of course, someone sends him a mouth-watering dabba!

Every child is an individual

With Darsheel I didn't get as much time to teach him about cinema as I wished. With Partho it was different. I introduced him to the world cinema at the age of four. He attended acting and film workshops from that age," said Gupte.

"He isn't just a qualified child actor, he is a skilled actor. Partho understands the requirements of a child actor from within the camera range. He knows how to internalise a character and then put it forward. He has watched films about children with children in the lead, including the cinema of the Iranian maestro Majid Majidi," added the director who played a negative role in "Kaminey".

Gupte won't admit that Partho was born out of a feeling of betrayal that he suffered when "Taare Zammen Par" was taken away.

"That was so long ago. The past is washed away. I met Darsheel recently and he ran to me warmly. I've been working relentlessly with children in my organization Aseema. Every child is an individual. We can't compare Darsheel and Partho. But I can say this much - Partho has understood his character's requirements as well as any mature actor in this country," he said.

Darsheel and TZP changed the way child actors appeared on screen.

Amole protested: "Why 'Taare Zameen Par'? I'd say Shekhar Kapoor's 'Masoom' heralded a new natural style of acting by a child actor. Jugal Hansraj melted the viewers' hearts. I'd like to believe little Partho has the same quality."

I hate it!!

Delhi was again confronted with the ugly truth of child labour in its midst when a 10-year-old migrant working in a beedimaking unit died after being allegedly beaten up by his employer. The boy was about to be buried on Sunday morning when an alert cemetery caretaker called the police.

Moin, who had come from Madhubani in Bihar, had blue bruises all over his body, the police said. It's not clear whether he died of asphyxiation or of injuries received on Saturday night.
Kaleemullah, the owner of the beedi unit being run from a rented room in northwest Delhi's Bharat Nagar,is absconding since Saturday night.Neighbours claimed that the child had been working there for almost two months.

Victory of the human spirit!

This summer, a young Stanley has loads of fun up his sleeves for the audiences who are likely to grow familiar with his story! Directed by Amole Gupte, SKD revolves around a dabba and his friends. Set up in a school, the movie promises to make the audience remember their school days. With film studios, producers and directors willing to put their money on off-beat projects, Amole Gupte’s Stanley Ka Dabba, is slated to release on May13.

“Films with children as protagonists are rather universal in appeal, It is the shortsightedness of the audience that makes them believe that a chidren’s film isn’t for the adults.” feels Gupte, who is the writer of Taare Zameen Par. In India movies like Makdee, Blue Umbrella and Taare Zameen Par — with children at their centre — have enjoyed a good run at the box-office. This is probably why the makers are now insisting on targeting a larger share of audience with these ‘children’s films’. Gupte pitches Stanley Ka Dabba as the victory of the human spirit.

However, despite efforts to bridge the gap, children’s films still are few and far in between. The star-driven industry in India is to be blamed for it to a large extent. Unless we have Shah Rukh Khan playing a 10-year-old, it is difficult to bring audiences to the theatre. This is one of the reasons why studios shy away from backing kid-centric projects.”

There are other practical problems too. When children act in films, the shooting schedules are worked around their vacation. Gupte shot on Saturdays. “We shot for 76 days, all on Saturdays at Holy Family School in Andheri,” says Gupte, who handled the shoot like a workshop and then edited it into a full-fledged film. The child stars might be positioned as family entertainers in the new scheme of things, but they are still not treated as par with regular Bollywood actors. Their pay packet varies between Rs 25-75 lakh depending on their saleability and popularity.
Dismal marketing and lack of platforms remain major concerns too, threatening to scuttle the efforts to reinvent this genre. However, things are looking with major studios such as Fox offering their support. A known name always helps a movie sell. With studios backing these, it looks like the audience will also digest the newer genres.

My random rants about water

Water is a pretty awesome creation and if im not wrong God was the first one to patent it although he was 5 minutes late to reacht the patent office. Anyways after a solid presentation his creation was accepetd and he threw it down to another one of his mind boggling creations the earth. The BC version of earth was a prototype and after a few kinks the AD version was ready. Anyways throughout both versions this magical invention known as water existed. After millions of years looking at a lonely bottle of water sitting on the floor sweating out droplets of condensed sweat i marvel at its creation. Its one of the most essential thing in our lives. Not only does it keep us alive and helps support our nutrition, it makes up a massive amount of our body content. Ana amzing fact to notice at this point is that all living creations and bisleri bottles have a high water content. Water to this date remains as the most superior creation as its highly versatile and can be used for almost anything. Washing, cleaning, attacking people( its better in the frozen form then), it makes stuff soft and it can simultaneously be used to harden soft things. It also does a final function in enhancing the colour quotient of our planet giving it the awesome colour that it prefers to dress up in while going for intergalactic parties.Signs of water on other planets make scientists believe that either alien life exists or its another one of those space homes with the new frozen pool layouts. Water makes up the seas, rivers, and oceans, and any other random dormation of water. It also resided in floating bungalows known as clouds and sometimes occasionally gets high from the constant passive smoking of the land below, its at this stage that it loses control and ends up falling and joining its friends downstairs. Water droplets make a giant family of useless relatives, so as soon as one leaves the bungalow others go to take its place.Water can save or destroy life, yet many people dont agree that it should have broken its relationship with fire, they always end up clashing nowadays. Yet one can finally just observe how tiny molecules make drops that come otgether to create giant joint families. Water is available in all physical stages and this is one of its strong points along with its transparent personality. In its taste its simple and yet the best tasting drink on the whole planet. It can be used to mix other drinks and no matter what people may say its the ultimate thirst quencher.Amidst massive applause i would like to conclude this story/review by giving water a brilliantly awesome 10 out of 10. I am off now, a certain friend of mine who goes by the acronym of H20 wants to meet up...so i shall see you people later..till then keep drinking..Water!

April fools day...pheww

April fools day... the day started with someone playing a prank on me... nicely that i was sleeping, my cousin came into my room and started screaming that there's a theif in the house... i got scared but i had to be the superman i always am... so i took my favorite cricket bat and stood next to the door..

the next thing i come to know is that i have been waiting behind the door for 5-7 minutes and outside the door all my cousins and friends are laughing at me... well that was just the start...

i then thought its time for me to fool someone else and laugh on them, but little did i know that my jokes always back fire on me... so i told my friend im not coming to school... because i was really sick... so what that smarty pants did was informed my class teacher about me being sick...and when i entered class, the teacher started asking me of how i was and it was so wierd but yeah that was the second...
